365 Days 35-37
I’ve done six shows and four techs in the past three days. I forget how to sleep, eat, and appropriately interact with people outside the theater.
So to explain the picture- tonight we opened Aladdin and during the performance I got hit in the face and now my face is swollen right under my eye. What exactly happened? The evil magician hit me in the face with the magic lamp. Great story. I personally believe that it smacked me in the face good enough to consider it a rub, and therefore I don’t understand why the genie didn’t come out and grant me wishes.

I really need to sleep. The end.

365 Day 34
So, riddle me how I spent all day in the sun yesterday and didn’t get burnt, but spent my lunch break on the beach today and turned into a lobster… OW. This picture does no justice to how red I am right now. Oh well. Today was a three rehearsal, two show day, and it wasn’t as much of a nightmare as I thought it would be. We walked through the children’s theater shows on the stage and reblocked things and stuff. The matinee today was kinda slow, but the night show was KILLER. Some of my friends from work were in the audience and it was fun for the whole choir to feed off of their instead of the usual blue haired crowd. Now for the internal casting audition tomorrow for Annie and Sound of Music.. that should be fun…

ANYWHOO- Story of the week that I forgot to write earlier: One of the little boys in Cinderella is about 7 or 8 years old and has half the attention span of a squirrel. During rehearsals he’ll go to the bathroom about every 10 minutes and at one point my friends Peter and Rob were in there, too. They said he walked into the stall, flushed twice, and said “take that, toilet!” and then casually left the bathroom. I can not.

365 Day 33
Summer- the only time of the year that I actually look forward to Monday. Know why? MY THEATER IS DARK ON MONDAY AND I HAVE OFF AND IT’S BEAUTIFUL. I spent part of the day on the beach with friends and my brother, but then it got too hot so we went to Mel’s grandparent’s pool and swam and laid around and loved the world. It was a wonderful Memorial Day, and it was nice to be home and with friends from home and my family after a week of staying at other people’s houses and working 10-13 hour days. Yayyy happy times:) Now to wake up at 7am for a two show, three rehearsal day tomorrow…

365 Days 25-32
SO MANY FEELINGS. I haven’t been home all week because we’ve been having 10-13 hour rehearsals EVERY. DAY. We finally opened All I Ask of You on Saturday and it has some AMAZINGLY talented lead singers in it that make me cry and pee every time they open their mouths, so that’s nice, but I just stand in the back on a platform with some old people and friends and want to sleep. It’s kind of been the longest week ever. Dassit.

Sometimes I just rehearse all day and I get real tired about it. I found out today that off-book for the two shows I’m in is Wednesday, which should be fun because I also have to memorize/learn all of the Andrew Lloyd Weber review we got plucked into the other day. GAHHH SO MANY WORDS ALL OVER EVERYWHEREEEEE.

I was in rehearsals from 12 to 9 today. FAR too tired to take a picture. I got pulled into being in a main stage show at work last night and we have to learn SOOOO much music in addition to the two childrens theater shows we have to memorize… the next few days will be pretty interesting…
